America we can do better, the Statue of Liberty has held its torch high for the last two centuries encouraging all who may be facing political intimidation, the threat of physical hunger and suffering. It looks like we have abandoned those principles now on the basis of skin color. Instead of building up all of this racial animus for those coming to the US from South of the Border, why not look at other solutions, such as turning the whole Caribbean and Latin American basin into a productive arm of the US Commonwealth. We should be attempting to provide other neighbors with a guarantee of a stable economy and a decent wage to take care of a family. If we adopted that position, we would likely have far less people making that dangerous trek to the borders of the United States. The major reason people want to come to America is because the economies in some of those other countries have failed in part due to our own environmental policies that have contributed majorly to global warming that has impacted most agrarian economies south of the US border. We can at least attempt to fix these man-made problems with man-made solutions, since that is about all we can do at this point. However, that is better than this harsh image of deportation to a 3rd parties supermax overcrowded prison.
