H.R. 1697 – The resolution making its way through both Houses of Congress, entitled the Israel Anti-Boycott Act, is it being positioned with the co-sponsoring assistance of some under cover Uncle Tommin’ by a black US Congressman in Texas? You judge for yourself.
Wow! What are you doing Marc Veasey (Democratic Representative from DFW, Texas)? Even Congressman Bobby Rush (above) the long termed African American representative in the House of Representatives from Illinois had the intelligence and decency to withdraw his support as a co-sponsor of this awful draconian legislation H.R.1697 – Israel Anti-Boycott Act. This resolution that has been co-sponsored in both the U.S. House and Senate by several congressmen impedes our First Amendment rights of freedom of speech, so on the basis of that we assume that Rush declined his support? Meanwhile the African American Democratic Texas Representative, Marc Veasey, apparently does not believe in that right to call for others around the world to not support the unjust actions perennially perpetrated against the Palestinian people by the power-elite of Israel.
This legislation has the mark of the ultra-conservative, Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu (above) and appears to have his fingerprint all over this resolution that has emerged from both US Congressional houses and we suspect the marching orders to the Israeli lobbyists in the US comes directly from his administration in Israel.
Those power barons who’ve benefited from the US-Israeli relationship have used their financial resources to turn the members of the US Congress into their own bunch of American flunkies willing to do their bidding. Many of them who have persistently shown their insensitivity towards American citizens and the DACA dreamers have often publicly displayed their racist inclinations towards others so for them to bow down to their Israeli overlords is not a far stretch for them to go. However, this legislation simply goes too far and Veasey should understand that it does by reading the resolution. While this Congressional Resolution H.R. 1697 purports to prohibit boycotts against allies of the United States fostered by international governmental organizations as the United Nations in doing so it covertly slips in the most draconian penalties that slip by the general reader who fails to go to the footnotes. Consider the following language contained within the Israel Anti-Boycott Act:
“(j) Violations Of Section 8(a).—Whoever knowingly violates or conspires to or attempts to violate any provision of section 8(a) or any regulation, order, or license issued there under shall be fined in accordance with section 206 of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1705).”.
When the reader takes the time to go to 50 U.S.C. 1705 this is what you will find for anything that is considered to be advocating a boycott against the conduct of the State of Israel.
§1705. Penalties
(a) Unlawful acts
It shall be unlawful for a person to violate, attempt to violate, conspire to violate, or cause a violation of any license, order, regulation, or prohibition issued under this chapter.
(c) Criminal penalty
A person who willfully commits, willfully attempts to commit, or willfully conspires to commit, or aids or abets in the commission of, an unlawful act described in subsection (a) shall, upon conviction, be fined not more than $1,000,000, or if a natural person, may be imprisoned for not more than 20 years, or both.
TX-D Marc Veasey
What’s wrong with you, Marc Veasey, as an African American who we know has been around long enough to have been educated on what this type of conduct rooted in white supremacy has historically caused in the U.S., South Africa, and Israel as well. Have you chosen not to read this legislation? Or are you in the back pocket of Texas Republicans some of whom are perceived as racist themselves, like the publicly insensitive Louie Gomert, and all the other Texas Republicans who’ve co-sponsored this legislation? Why have you aligned yourself, Veasey, with them; that is the question?
TX-R Louie Gohmert
So now if you call for a boycott of the brutal inequities perpetrated by the power structure in Israel on the Palestinian people you expose yourself in the United States to 20 years imprisonment and a one million dollar fine. The very concept of such a bill sponsored by two Jewish Congressmen, Peter Roskam of Illinois and Senator Benjamin Cardin of Maryland may make sense to them acting as stooges of the Israeli government, however, the legislation as far as we are concerned attempts to undermine the most basic civil liberty of Americans to speak out against racial injustice as well as to boycott to send the signal that unjust conduct is not appreciated nor acceptable. Shame on you, Marc Veasey, for being a stooge for others. You are not benefiting the constituents of your district by capitulating and becoming a butt kissing servant for those trying to pass this reprehensible legislation. Read the proposed bills that are put in front of you or defend why you would vote for this bill that attempts to tie the hands of those of us who have always cited the unfairness of the conduct of the Israeli government towards the Palestinian people of Israel.
The laws of Congress made by Israel makes US Citizens live under the Rules Of Israel like Palestinians in Gaza… https://maddoggbuttkickingbrown.blog/2018/01/14/h-r-1697-israel-anti-boycott-act/
